The goal of this BA project was to find an original and modern visual language for whisky bottles. As the author explains, “this visual identity system is inspired by the Scottish character, and the key expression to the whole concept is aqua vitae.” The designer managed to find the perfect balance between traditional elements (like colours or typography) and the minimalist representation of water in various forms (like waves or raindrops). The final result is a very attractive product, competitive with other existing solutions. Apart from using traditional bottles, the author entered into cooperation with a local glassworks to run experiments on the shapes of the bottles for the limited edition.
